I'd love to see a definitive Oz/NZ list, but we aren't the ones to do it. However, if we think of your scene as part of "the rest of the world" (outside of N.A. and the U.K.), that wouldn't be so bad.
But the next board will probably focus on the UK. I don't know who Strat-0 might be thinking about voting for in this one ...

Yeah I think a good "other than UK and USA" list would do us some justice indeed! I'd put together my own list of Aussie bands that I think are the standouts of our scene, but barely anyone would know wqhat I am on about... that is probably something for another forum than this RS Castaways board altogether... :-)

Yes, I'll be doing some soul searching for that one. I'll be searching low and high. I guess I'll be quite the seeker.

Yes, i think it will be an almighty struggle for our hapless cheif board administrator! :-)
If the Doors have some sort of secret British citzenship thing... can we just discount them from the next list on account of their being on the American list already??!!
Don't mind me, just trying to snuff out the Doors where possible... :-)

John Cale is Welsh. Therefore the Velvet Underground are British. They've got my vote.

The Church lived in London for a good deal of time, and Marty Wilson - Piper from the band is English. Hence I'll count them in the UK list.... ;-)

Don't mind me, just trying to snuff out the Doors where possible... :-) Well, seems to me that if the Doors are British, then they've lost their spot on the US chart ... and in the absence of proof of their loyalty to the Queen, I've got no choice but to exclude them from the next round of balloting. So it looks like Jimbo is in limbo ... the Doors are closed ... don't let the Doors hit you in your arse on the way out ... I'll start up a new board, probably this afternoon. No Lizard Kings allowed. ;D

Final note before I'm off to see the judge ... I'd love to hear some of these down under wonders. If any of you guys want to put together a cd or three, I'd be thrilled (in particular, I'd love to have more of the Saints than simply "I'm Stranded"). Send me a message here or an email, and I'll give you my address.

Just to show you all how we all can enable our inner-Moorison, on the spot, I will create a 'song' in the vein of Horse Latitudes
Cow Platitudes by Bowiglou (copyright)
The hoofed creature snarling hoofing pointificating
In a meadow searing from the tortured aorta.
Moo moo Moo Moo
Hear the sacrificial bessie
moo moo moo moo
Fear the sacrifical bessie
moo moo moo moo
And then the butcher comes down the path and opens up the Gate
Yes Butcher I want to eat you
Mr. Ed I want to f_ _ k
The End

yeah yeah sure sure.......what ya gonna do Blaney, hit me over the head with a Haberman text? Did you mean Habermas there Biglou? (I swear the guy does these things intentionally just to keep up his reputation). Or maybe there's a new costumed superhero named Haberman? (Can't wait to see his costume).
