Melon, I'm with you on the Whopper, but I quit eating it when they got rid of the 99 cent Whopper. Yes, the Whopper is worth more than 99 cents, but that was a fucking institution, man. I used to always bring a piece of cheese for my Whopper to Burger King. $.49 for a frikkin' slice of cheese!? I don't think so, Burger King. HA! Bring your own cheese! Ha Ha! That's almost as funny as Rocky's post this morning! I tell ya, this is one of the most amusing, entertaining exchanges I've seen since the glory days of RS.com. Seriously, very amusing, ladies and gentlemen. Of course, what do you expect when the discussion turns from Icons Commentary to fast food... Thanks all, for the yuks! For the record, I enjoyed the all-you-can-eat buffett at Pizza Hut today. Not a burger in sight. And yeah, I was a tad gluttonous, but it's the only meal of the day so that's okay, right?

well I use to never drink diet drinks as I was mainly imbibin in alcohol...but now after almost 16 years of sobriety, I do drink almost a diet coke a day, and especially when I'm teaching!!! That Nutrasweet (Aspartame) in Diet Coke gives me a headache. I don't like diet soda, anyway. These days I even have to limit the Dr. Pepper and/or Coke to a very small amount because the caffeine keeps me awake and my insomnia is bad enough without that on top of it. I settle for the Caffeine Free versions, but I'm getting to the point where all the sugar does the same thing.

Son, how many girls called you today? Zero? And how many girls called you yesterday? Let me guess...zero? Well, you know what they say, son. Zero plus zero equals FAG! Zero times any other number always equals FAG! Think about it, ya little mathematician.
I know it's a cliché, but my favorite album of all time is still "Sgt. Pepper's." -"Sgt. Pepper's"? What's that? Only the Beatles' most famous album! -I'm sorry, the Beatles? Who are they? The best group of the sixties! -Oh, the sixties. I didn't hear much music in the sixties. What are you talking about? -Well, dad always was a little crazy. After the car accident he started medication and things got worse. One night he woke me up and knocked me out. He brought me down to the basement where I lived for the next ten years. I heard no music, I had no friends. They shoved food under the door so I had to eat pancakes and pizza. It was awful, but I survived. -Gee, I'm sorry. I...didn't know. Of course I've heard of the Beatles, you retard!
I look at Ms. Manythroats and it's like, "Who would fuck you?" She should be bisexual. It would increase her chances.

Frag, were those skits from a comedy show?
the Beatles one in particular just sucked cock. the other two were lacking as well. it's the kind of ''comedy'' that makes me want to prefer being a deaf mute rather than listen to skits like that. ..unfunny. lame. to the max.

I, too, remember the day I discovered that Hardy's no longer carried the Frisco burger. .... we get in there, and they don't even have fucking curly fries anymore. Fucking assholes changed their whole menu to all this expensive third-rate Whataburger type shit, with no Frisco Burger in sight. Fuck that place. AMEN to the Frisco Burger and it's early morning cousin sandwich, but I'll gladly pay the extra expense on that "whataburger" (aka the Angus beef thickburger) for its superior taste over the competetor's Mac's, Whopper's, Single/Double's,,,,maybe a Steak N Shake burger may give it a run.... Hey Luke, what about that Crystal Burger place on Bourbon St. in NOLA....is that a chain or a local thing? A buddy steered my ass in there one drunken night/wee-morning -- was more like a White Castle if anything (and probably not the best thing in the stomach on top of a few gallons of warm Abita...). Can't believe the Pizza Hut buffet being brought up as I had it twice in a 3-day period last week. I'm with a landscape maint. biz and we've got all the local Hut's on account. Spent two days at the same location this week and it's part of our contract that we get FREE buffet when we're on-sight. I'll tell you that doughy aroma seeping outside where we're working is very enticing prior to when the break for lunch rolls around....after you've gourged yourself and are back outside the building working again, it's suddenly nauseous to suck up for the next few hours.

Our Pizza Hut buffet closes at 1:00. I've never been able to make it. We've got this place Sicily's that does it, though, so I get my fill.
Krystal Burger is DISGUSTING, but decent enough for eating contests. It's a huge chain down here, and they're all 24 hours. I know they've got them from here all the way through Florida, but I haven't seen many north of here. Same as White Castle, I guess, but I've never experienced or heard of a White Castle outside that Harold and Kumar movie.

White Castle is pretty big in the midwest. They're all over metro Detroit, and there seem to be quite a few here in Chicago as well. I think it's pretty much an upper midwest thing, although there may be some further east too, I'm not sure.

Nah, Luke's the only frat boy here.
Is fast food only for frat boys now?
Oh well. In any event, my new favorite drunken food is Bacci Pizza. It's $4 for a slice, but it is the largest slice I've ever seen in my life, and it comes with free Pepsi as well. And it's open until 4:00 a.m. Good stuff.

Not direct, I just had to laugh when patlogi used the word sick. I lived in a surfie-town for 5 years, that word's as common as yes or no there. And yeah, the discussion about the freshest burger/pizza is a main topic, next to surfboards, babes and 'what's your ringtone?'
I don't like fast food, the only thing I get usually is a kebab or some chicken to eat at home with either rice or a salad.

Pizza Huts in Canada do the buffet thing so I think it’s got to be pretty wide spread. They stop it at 1 as well. I don’t think there is one particular fast food joint that rocks it; they’re pretty much all the same. Except for that Taco Bell knock off Taco Time. Shit that’s rancid!!! I’d rather cough up the $$ & go to real restaurants.

I went to a Pizza Hut in Tulsa expecting to gorge on the buffett and when I walked in there was none. I asked if they offered the luch buffett and the lady I spoke to said no, but she thought the Pizza Hut on the other side of the city did. I turned and walked out, a little miffed not only because I didn't get to stuff myself but also cuz I didn't know my way around Tulsa well enough to even want to try and find the Hut that was doin' it up right. I'm sure me and my posse wound up at Ci-Ci's again...It's a buck cheaper but the pizza doesn't compare with the quality of a Hut pie. Then again, at the Ci-Ci's we frequented (one of the first ones, and a big 'un, too) they have a pretty decent salad bar (MUCH better than yer typical Ci-Ci's salad bar, which is about as bare-bones as you can get and still call it a "salad bar") and they even have Caeser salad dressing. The trick to getting your money's worth at Ci-Ci's is by eating the entire pizza top from each slice with one or perhaps two bites of the crust, leaving the rest of it behind. Most pizza buffetts I wouldn't do that, but they make that crust so thick and doughty that it fills you up much too quickly. Surely this is done on purpose, so I don't mind cheatin' 'em at their own game.
I used to be fairly loyal to Taco Bell when it came to fast food mexican, but I've gravitated to Taco Mayo as my favorite based upon their taco sauce (yummy) and the fact that they grind their beef very thoroughly and I prefer that to the more chunky ground hamburger in the Bell's tacos. That salsa bar they've got is pretty derned nifty, too, even if the jalapeno peppers aren't nearly hot enough for my taste. You can still get a pretty good burn goin' if you combine the peppers with a LOT of the sauce (which is another great thing about the salsa bar...you can get enough sauce to drench your food and not have to mess with those pesky lil packets). The potato locos are delicious, too.
Bizarre trivia: I was 17 years old the first time I ever ate at a McDonalds. Can you believe that shit?

All-U-Can-Eat at CiCi's for $3.99 isn't bad if you understand you get the quality that you're paying for. I will have to say that I was pretty impressed with the salad bar too though. The thing that suprised me here in Lafayette was that they opened it about as far away from Purdue's campus as you could get....the place would be a gold mine if it had been in walking distance for the students.
Taco Bell is still the best fill up for your buck IMO -- I almost always just fill up there on plain old hard shell taco's. For burritto's I'd head up the road a bit to LaBamba for one of their 'burritto as big as your head'....now THIS is a chain that does pop up near universities and brother, ya oughta see the line at about 2:00AM when the bars are begining to let out!
