The first POTD I got on RS.com was about how seeing Alice Cooper on The Muppet Show when I was a kid scared me to death. I think I got another one or two at some point, but I have no idea what they were about.

Yes ... but then we discussed the consequences of raising a child, and you mentioned your boyfriend, and that's why we didn't jump into bed.  You guys win free tickets to the video of your choice over on YouTube ... you can pick 'em up from Riley as soon as he finishes up the awards show ... so sometime in 2008. In the meantime, you guys can amuse yourselves ... just don't go makin' no unwanted babies!  |

The fat girl post count exchange between Chrisfan and Mary was hilarious today. Posting gold for both - but top marks to Chrisfan. Good stuff.

I think I only got one POTD back in the day. I cannot for the life of me remember what it was about though.
My enduring memory of POTD was me whining to Chatman about the negativity of all the recent POTDs, and he seemed kind of taken back by that.

Feel free to let me know what you think of the new incarnation of POTD. Really, I'd like to see some other people suggesting these things ... it's not like I'm here every single day to do this ... well, okay, I'm almost always here, and rarely away for more than a day or two at a shot ... but still, I'd like to see other people suggesting posts that deserve this prestigious award. And I don't remember Ferdman, Chatman, or anyone else ever giving out prizes along with the POTD award! And they had corporate backing from Rolling Stone! |

I think this should be the POTD.... Where's Riley? This has been a very long commercial break... Sorry for the hiatus and break in flow. This day job thing is getting in the way of our awards. I'm planning on giving my notice today. I will need a place to stay though after my wife kicks me out when I tell her I "quit my job to focus on a fictional on-line awards show I'm writing for some friends you've never met." That almost made me spit up a mouth full of coffee onto my keyboard. |

With all due apologies to Riley (and he's getting enough attention with the ongoing awards show), here's today's POTD: On Albums Which Will Never See the Light of Day, ThoRny, with some help from Shin, came up with the following ... Korn & the Osmonds - Together At Last haha, actually korn are so laidback they'd probably agree to do an Osmonds collab. The ball's in the Osmond's court. ~ "I'm a little bit country..." ~ " And I'm a little bit rock'n'roll..." ~ " a-ROT-en-ROT-a-mucka-mcuk'n-RRRROTTT!!!" ;D For this gem, ThoRn gets ... um, I'm getting kind of low on prizes to give out here ... ThoRny, you and Shin can go to a concert together or something and have a beer on Riley. He's the official Treasurer of the Castaways Boards, and I'm sure he'll be happy to reimburse you for your beverages. Just as soon as he's done with the next segment of the awards show ... and make sure the cheque is in US dollars, and not that funny money they use up in Canada. Or in Rileybucks. YouTube won't even take those things! |
