Is it just people here who like Radiohead? I sort of thought they were one of the biggest bansd (with one of the most obsessive followings) in all of alt rock. But okay...

You're right, I just thought this board might have a little bit better taste than the mainstream... Kool, I'm not too good at polls like that anyway, theres always a histload of bands I forget...

There isn't a single indie label band on this planet that's made music as good as Radiohead's finest. And certainly not a single indie band on this planet who can compete live.
(Not that they're the best band of the 90s. But not that that has anything to do with this thread.)

I'm no Radiohead fanboy, but it's hard to argue with the fact that they're one of about four bands that merit serious discussion for this title. Of course, two of the others are Nirvana and Pearl Jam ... and the final one isn't Stereolab, BTW.

I was kinda of wondering if he was nominating Stereolab as best band of the 90's...becuase that's pretty silly...

You're right, I just thought this board might have a little bit better taste than the mainstream... Even among people who are sensitive to non-mainstream music (which most of us certainly are), Radiohead will inevitably be one of the bands mentioned for this title. You don't have to agree with it of course, but your reaction seems kind of...weird. If you expected us to be "better" than that, then all I can say is, um, sorry for disappointing you?

Radiohead made 2 albums in the 90s that I'm willing to listen to today.
Pearl Jam made 5.
