Fair enough. I'm not 17 anymore either, maybe that explains it.

I'm going to give you a list here and you tell me what you think. Maybe even vote accordingly. Here are the bands to vote on for who you think is the best band of this decade. 1. The White Stripes 2. Broken Social Scene 3. Franz Ferdinand 4. Deerhoof 5. Devendra Banhart 6. Muse 7. Arcade Fire 8. The Mars Volta 9. The Walkmen 10. TV On The Radio I like Ndy's brevity approach, but perhaps without the surliness 1. The White Stripes - they should make e.p.'s 2. Broken Social Scene - my favorite working band 3. Franz Ferdinand - brilliant yet sadly disposable 4. Deerhoof - need more listens 5. Devendra Banhart - she has awesome ta-ta's 6. Muse - the best roller coaster ride in music 7. Arcade Fire - so far so good 8. The Mars Volta - overated. period. 9. The Walkmen - overated. terribly. 10. TV On The Radio - terribly original and interesting I choose Broken Social Scene.

Fourthly. Yes, I listen to a lot of Canadian music. So do Doc Drum and Tuneschick. We're Canadian. I bet I listen to more Japanese music than you listen to Canadian music You guys may live in cooler cities than I do, but I'll still be wearing shorts in November! We'll see who's laughing when I'm grilling steaks for Christmas dinner and Riley's trying to dig enough snow out of his patio to let the dogs out. I wish we actually had a decent social scene, though. I've lived here most of my adult life, and I think I may (finally) be getting tired of my desert home.

I like Ndy's brevity approach, but perhaps without the surliness Evening NdY can't speak for morning NdY, but if he could he'd say he's got nothing but love for a dog.

What's the point of having cool concerts if you can't get to the club because the fucking snow has disabled the train? I actually missed a concert once because some douchebag decided to commit suicide by jumping into a moving train, disabling it for about an hour. That sucked big time.

I can tell when you're a bit grumpy. You should listen to some Raising The Fawn. It'll loosen your stool some.

I actually downloaded the Arctic Monkeys because I'd heard people bashing them so hard that I thought I'd get a kick out of laughing at how bad they sucked. Turns out it was a really great, shake-your-ass type album. Usually the type of stuff folks like Layla, who were ripping it to shreds, kinda dig... I don't think you really know my taste dude. As good a grasp as I could have. Mainly meant that you have knack for liking- if not loving- a good ass shaking rock 'n roll band. Don't really see how someone could enjoy recent BRMC and Wolfmother and not at least smile at this album.

The Arctic Monkeys are thoroughly mediocre, but since they're 19 or so and only recently figured out how to write (presentable) music, I wouldn't expect much better.

What about me and my love of all things Mayumi Kojima though, is that consistent with me disliking Arctic Monkeys? Though if that means that I don't enjoy good ass shaking rock n' roll, well then goddamnit rock n' roll can go fuck itself!
