Modest Mouse has sucked this decade. "Good News" is just shit. I haven't listened to it since I bought it to tell you the truth. Live, they are absolute fuckers and I wouldn't treat my worst enemy like they do their crowd. Isaac should maybe spend more time losing weight than being a coked up asshole.

I don't think you really know my taste dude. As good a grasp as I could have. Mainly meant that you have knack for liking- if not loving- a good ass shaking rock 'n roll band. Don't really see how someone could enjoy recent BRMC and Wolfmother and not at least smile at this album. I like my rock with balls though. I sleep in an AC/DC shirt & drink straight whiskey shots & wear stiletto boots. All I ask is that my rock stars grow facial hair. Unreasonable? I think not.

i think Layla was a bit burnt out, thats all. She was firing in all directions. I was. Not burnt out, just a little frazzled. I can't remember large chunks of my weekend. Although thats probably a good thing considering I was forced to sit through half of TV on the Radio's set....ahaha

The Monkeys are ok. Nothing exceptional, but they are ok.
I like the Shins, a lot. They haven't lost a thing in their two albums, and I am eagrly awaiting their new stuff.
I used to really like the Strokes. I think their new album is a misstep, but hey, kudos for at least trying.
BSS is fantastic, as is Interpol (you know, I actually like Antics better than their first go around). TV On The Radio is exceptional. The thing is, there are a few bands that have been huge this decade that I haven't been able to get into at all. Fucking Bloc Party had pretty much universal critical adoration last year, and I couldn't get into them to save my life.
A confession: If I had to pick out the stuff I liked to listen to the most, I'd go with Sonic Youth, BSS, The Shins, Camera Obscura, TV On The Radio, the Wrens, Radiohead, Malkmus, Neko Case, Elvis Costello, and a veritable ton of undie rap or indie dance. I know most of these bands weren't launched this decade. But hey, if it ain't broke.
Oh, and I like Nada Surf.

I actually missed a concert once because some douchebag decided to commit suicide by jumping into a moving train, disabling it for about an hour. That sucked big time. Missed this before. There's this really narrow bridge in New Orleans that everyone used to always jump off of to kill themselves. Fucking pricks would park on the goddamn bridge and jump, backing up traffic for three or so hours. Goddamn I hate assholes like that. Go shoot yourself in your living room or something, dickface. Don't ruin my day just because you're about to end yours.

Artist/Band of the Decade? It sure as hell isn't a rock band, that's for sure.
I'd say for the general population, probably Eminem, who's been by far the most influential and popular artist. He's the only guy right now who's really broken out into being a star in every aspect of popular culture with success in virtually everything.
Critically? Probably Kanye West, because he's produced a ton of hits, launched an army of artists, and has been hugely popular himself, all while getting tons of love from most critics.
I'd personally pick Ghostface Killah because I'd rather listen to him than The Strokes or Shins every single day of the week and because he's been consistently strong this whole decade.

Eminem is not musically influential. He's just a pop fad. Who are you kidding?

Um...actually he's been pretty damn influential in the rap world as far as I can tell. And, he's pretty skilled too, IMO.

Or the stories he tells? I don't know, Rock. He may have been huge. I think he is a good rapper. But I wouldn't call him influential.
