yay!
you saw it! and with a blank cdr of very decent quality being anywhere 11¢ to 16¢ a copy when you hit that excellent sale that always comes up (sonys, imations or philipses are my choices), this option really becomes a no-brainer...leastaways til the gravy train comes in for ordering up yer very latest antepodean favorites!
and i guarantee that your libraries will surprise the shit out of you with what they do have.

Last friday, I took the opportunity to pick up the Counting Crows latest CD, Saturday Nights and Sunday Mornings, and was most pleasantly suprised with the results!

In the mailbox today: The Negro Problem Welcome Back( The brains of The Problem goes by the name of 'Stew' -- a performer with a current Off-Broadway musical hit running right now by the name of Passing Strange ) Papa Grows Funk LIVE At The Leaf( New Orleans mainstays that I saw at this very same bar during a trip there....hot, sweaty, THICKly funky to be damn sure --- oh, the band was too! ) Joe Henry Civilians( from last year,,,,I'm waiting to have just the right moment to play this for the first time. I fear it to be perfect. )

A bit of buying madness hit....like I know I shouldn't spend the cash and then I'm in the store and I see something and I "rationalize" that I'll be buying it anyhow at some point so why not just get it today....so: and then to ANOTHER store where I pay $8 each for: and at this joint I have a Club Card that I suddenly realize is now full with the purchase of the above and THAT entitles me to one free disc --- and with that I go back out to the racks and promptly pull: I'm afraid with the Opeth that I could only get through the first four tracks. Yep. I stopped at the begining of the fifth cut. Couldn't go any further.....couldn't go any further without hitting the 'back' button on the car CD player and RE-listening to track 4 !!! All I kept thinking was of Thorn's review and remembering him saying that the album gets better --- ohmyfuckinggawd, I think,,, it's going to get better???? Jezus, my jaw was about on the floor just from this cut --- I had literally laughed in glee when a couple minutes into it, a HammondB organ popped up in the mix. (and speaking of mix, this disc is extrememly well put together -- the separations and EQs,,,,I envy Thorn having it on wax.....I'd probably cry from the beauty of it) This is my start on picking on the Opeth catalog....I knew it would be welldone regardless, but the weight of it on my soul right now is also most rewarding!
