I'm intrigued by the two disc "Lost Sides" Maarts, what does it have that the single disc version I have doesn't.... very intriguing indeed!
Is it a live disc or is it more B - Sides and rarities??!
I will have your CD sent out soon, I promise! The first burn of it I did had some issues and I put that down to some new software I have started using... faults will be rectified soon, I promise!

Bow/samples - I picked up the new Loretta Lynn last week, and it's really gorgeous - highly recommended, even after just a couple of listens.
Finally picked up Emmylou Harris' Red Dirt Girl too - was in a bit of a country mood, and not disappointed in the least.

The second disc has remixes- the following ones are my observations on them.:
1. Words (Echoboy-remix)- bit of an echochamber-mix leaving the original fairly intact. Nice, but then again, this is one of their best tracks so there's not much to fuck up on if you stay to the melody.
2. N.Y. (Chris Coco-remix)- directionless meandering of the main theme in the beginning but almost Billy Joel-like in the progression.
3. M62 song (Four Tet-remix) These guys surprisingly keep it unannoyingly simple...no feedback like on the Radiohead-EP, just repeats, echo and breakbeat-tempos. Mwa, could do without this.
4. The Sulphur Man (Rebelski-remix)- a stringladen version with upbeat percussion- very nice. Bit reminiscent of Mull Historical Society with the glockenspiel 'n all.
5. The Last Broadcast (Magnet remix)- Christmas bells! Will this remove Last Christmas from many a radiostation's playlist come December? Good electrofeel, bit heavy on the keyboard-strings.
6. Where We're Calling From (Hebden Bridge-remix)- an ambient stroll through the garden, like Bill Laswell meets Brian Eno on the escalator of a very echoey airport.
7. Satellites (Soulsaver-remix)- Starts off with not much happening and then escalates in one of those big balld-type of things with background vocals...almost gospel, with bells, Tears For Fears could have recorded this too like this.

I admit it, I'm a shallow fuck that's only interested in Loretta Lynn because of the White Stripes.
NP: Apoptygma Berzerk - Welcome To Earth. This group is so good, despite the fact they sing about human-alien contact the entire album.

Jeez maarts, I haven't heard the name Ned's Atomic Dustbin (the NADs, as it were) in years...
You'll have to let me know what you think of Fallen, btw. I like some of the stuff on there, even though it's clearly NOT the Nephilim really. Dunno who that metal guitarist is, and they miss Paul Wright's songwriting and gorgeous guitar riffs, and Nod's awesome drumming. But nonetheless, I thought it was worth a purchase.

Maarts, that disc certainly sounds interesting! Thanks for the low down on it... I'm going to tweak and revise your compilation tonight and get it going properly... postage will soon follow, I feel so bad for dragging the chain on this one...

Bought yesterday ... The Beatles, Please Please Me (yeah, I'm still slowly picking up Beatles back-catalog LPs, I've only got a couple left now (Beatles For Sale, Hard Day's Night, maybe one or two more). Blondie, Greatest Hits and also The Curse of Blondie. David Bowie, Outside (remastered w/a bonus cut).
That's it ...

[glow=green,2,300]Outside (remastered w/a bonus cut). [/glow] Whoa! Hey wot's that cut like, Holzman-? Damn I'm going to haveta track a copy down for meself... *speaking of bonus cuts included on Remastered albums*: Did you know there is a re-issue of The Final Cut: A Requiem For The Post-War Dream by roger waters, which includes a bonus track in the middle of the songlist of none other than When The Tigers Broke Free-?? (!) That's like, right up there with my favorite Pink Floyd songs ever written. I was stunned upon glancing at the tracklisting. A must~have if there ever was one...

The Curse of Blondie is a decent listen, Bow, aside from a couple tunes. All the pop virtues you'd wish from the band without being a purely retro exercise.
