I dunno, didn't see any replys to it at the old board which i posted it on. But anyways might be moving to the city to play music in the fall, living with another guy who i'll be writing songs with. It will be catchy rock n roll, classic feel i imagine. Big Star, Rasperries, Kinks,....basic pop rock n roll good things.

U should put your eye up to brother Thorn.
I'm thinking I'm going to be playing the bass in this band, as i'm the new guy. It will give me lots of time to hoard all my good guitar songs for myself.
After all i'm a loner troubadour deep down inside.

U should put your eye up to brother Thorn. Man, I tried to already . . . this PC doesn't know what format supports the original .jpg . . . (I'll figure it out eventually). But yeah. Stay tuned

I thought I responded at the old place, Shane. Anyhow, sounds like a cool approach. And playing bass is good for developing a feel for chord progressions and stuff.

Oh if you did Strat I didn't catch it. I need to learn how to play bass like Chris Hillman in the Byrds, man can he ever make that thing sing.

Good stuff Shane - all the chicks dig a bass player. Well known fact. We're like guitarists, but with a bigger instrument, and we go deeper. It's all about that bottom end etc etc
Long live Carry On films, and death to Jack White.

i play guiter normally, but i appreciate the bass, for much the same reasons Jesus does.
forget Chris Hillman, my fave bassist will always be MacCartney. simple and uncomplicated harmonically, with perfect placement and and good taste.

Yep, the bass can be overplayed. I've played with a few who played "lead bass" all the time. You have to cover the bottom. That said, listening to some of the virtuosos (virtuosi?) such as Stanley Clark or Jaco Pastorius is incredible.

TwitcherMan! wuddup
Who's the hottest female bassist? Well there's always the memory of D'arcy, of course. And I used to have the biggest crush on Paz Lenchantin, until she two-timed Billy & dropped him for David Pajo to skank off on some other side-side-project (bitch!) I still haven't forgiven her for that...

And I used to have the biggest crush on Paz Lenchantin, until she two-timed Billy & dropped him for David Pajo to skank off on some other side-side-project ( bitch!) I still haven't forgiven her for that... D'arcy was too ordinary on her instrument, and if you take her out of a band and put her on the street then she ain't sexy anymore either. So I'm ruling her out. Paz was sexier on violin. Female violinists are hotter than anything in the world other than female cellists - scientific fact. If PJ Harvey or the guitarist from Ash never played bass somewhere, then I'm voting for Kim Deal. A bit blokish to look at, but sexy bass lines.
