This site is getting to get widespread so why not share what we're stumbling upon?
Tonight I plugged in some searches on old, obscure bands and came up with a few gems that blew my mind to even find that they existed!
First up, LUCIFER'S FRIEND: early 70's acidrockprog....think Black Sabbath with Klaus Meine of The Scorpions on vocals, Jon Lord killing on keyboards, plus a dude blaring on a French horn...sound fucked up? It is but in a slamming way!

Continuing on with a 70's flashback...and this was just incredible to find...CAPTAIN BEYOND, live from 1972 doing about 1/2 of their debut album. Sound is shaky esp. in comparison to how well gelled it comes across on the album, but to catch guitarist Rhino in all of his Hendrix inspired glory.....damn it's hard to believe his playing only lasted a scant couple albums or so. Dated footage but the energy is there. 20 minutes takes you through several time changes but the real hearing is on the album itself.

Patti Smith looking so young and full of CBGB energy with this rip of "Gloria" -- taking a 60's garage anthem, punking it up, and lending art to performance that is so of the times.

Coheed & Cambria doing an unplugged "Welcome Home"....obnoxious host & gathered guests but nice sounds while the band plays...now just go buy the disc...

Totally loose and full of fenzy, Frank Zappa live on Saturday Night with "I Am The Slime" from some ancient day of decades back...only wish they didn't have to cut to commercial...
