First, Koko just has the right voice for da bloooze...AND the swagger to match. Think she also had Buddy Guy doing some of the leads too on her early tunes, which really can't be a hurt!

Right on both accounts. And she still shredded it up until her demise last year. Buddy Guy makes quite a few appearances on her records- they were very well matched.

Just became aware that Carl Palmer is doing a tour this summer/fall including a stop in a VERY small club in Indpls. Doing ELP numbers mainly, just him and two guitarists "reinventing" them in a different sort of power-trio manner.
Wondering if he still had the chops these days, I dug up this recent YouTube vid and it proves that yeeeeahhhhhh -- he can still fiddle them sticks. It also proves that Steve Howe hasn't gotten any handsomer in his older years....
( solo starts about 4:30 mark)

The trumpet playing is what lifts that one greatly above the norm. Grace is obviously stoned and having her own orgasms watching Satch masterbate guitar lines.

ok,,,,,I just went viral with this on Facebook, but I SO FUCKING LOVE this song! This just HITS ---- yeah, "like a hammer"......
I know she's right behind me now Without looking back I know she will untie me How, then, will I pay for that?
And like she was the railroad like she was the lost world like she was the big hand turning back the sea like she was the raging flower in the backyard like she was the only thing holding on to me
There is no revolution without boots and song her foot falls like a banner day and I will sing along
Like she was the anvil like she was the fire bell like she was the fever I wear like a crown like she was the bomb scare threathening with heaven like she was the only thing holds me to the ground
She's pretending to be wide awake to be listening to me promises a love to last at least for now without a moment's peace
like she was the tightrope like she was the last hope like she was Roosevelt's funeral in the street like she was the wireless voice out of the jungle like she was the only thing calling out to me
i so fucking dig this guy......

This is why I loved Gary Moore's playing. He's jsut the back-up dude here....but FWAKKKKKK,,,,check out the vibrato, the held notes, the attacks of bite he puts into the backdrop..... Half a minute in and it's HIS show, but yet.....it's all tempered to the song and the singer in the end. Like, yeah....he could take over the entire procedings but just adds that upped level of vibe and subdues it back to the main star when called for. This is the genie far capable of breaking out of the bottle but knows to just shatter it 'that' much is what makes the difference in the endddddd.

Just was talking to Bowiglow about this old Bob Welch video I found from California Jam II. While he does a good version of "Ebony Eyes" just checkout how positively SMOKIN' Stevie Nicks is looking here!
