Go onto youtube and type in Henry Rollins. There is a clip of Thom Yorke playing two songs and being interviewed on the new Henry Rollins show. It is really really good.

Thanks, my friend. That was, indeed, an inspiring performance. Makes me was to drag out my worn copy of Takk and feed it into my ears via headphones. First, however, I need to get that thang up on my YouTube Music Archive blog... Peace.

Both of these were fantastic! You said some kind words about the YouTube links I posted so I wanted to reciprocate that, but I couldn't very well lie and say that I enjoyed the Muse clips, could I? I've never seen Radiohead, but is Thom Yorke always that spastic on stage? Ajico "covering" Blankey Jet City: youtube.com/watch?v=D9zPPygQuJE&search=AjicoMy one big complaint about this clip is that it doesn't feature enough of Tokie. She's one of the hottest bassists out there, what the hell were they thinking? UA is ugly IMO, but she looks damn hot when she's singing.

(reprinted from the TV Board) Okay: any of you "American Idol"-type fans been watching America's Got Talent (Wed/Thurs on NBC)? Seems a couple of brothers from a band out of our little town of Lafayette, IN here are in the Finals for the million dollar prize in the next week or so. I'm talking about the Miller's featuring this 12-y/o kid blowing the harmonica: Guess not bad for some locals that I've watched for years in small bars and festivals around town....but fuck, ya oughta had seen him play when he was 5!!! Actually to me he was more impressive then....wish I could upload some footage or pics I have of him back then. Here's a YouTube links of them on the show jamming out the Bill Wither's tune "Use Me": www.youtube.com/watch?v=bdN8OxQzCzc which also includes a classic moment of judge Piers Morgan reducing young LD to tears by telling him he should go it alone and leave his older guitar playing brother on the wayside. Made for some great TV as LD told him basically to shove it. There's also a retort back from his brother Cole that he's actually the drummer in the band when they play as a group -- totally true as the band's really led by a 3rd brother who plays a hotshot SRV apeshit style. THAT dude is near overkill anymore --- in fact a year or two ago I saw them in my fav watering hole downtown and Cole came out from behind his kit for a couple of numbers and was fairly impressive. I told him later that while his brother have some chops on the electric that he let a lot more soul come through with his playing. Here's another YouTube link from a show I saw them at the Lafayette Brewing Company --- full band and LD probably around 9 y/o, Cole on drums, brother Clayton doing the guitar thang, long-haired dad Larry on bass. BUT beyond ALLLLL of that, check out the dude on the Hammond B3.....Lane Reiss is his name and he was a mainstay on the Lafayette music scene for years. He'd haul that battered old behemoth (with revolving cabnets!!) around to sit in with bands or just do his own jam thing.....fuck the nights I'd watch him sweat over those keys, cans of Bud nearby, and a long stogie smoldering away just beyond that..... Sadly, a year and a half ago he sat in his car and put a gun to his head....FUCK! The man was said to be down because his music wasn't being heard..... Do me a favor --- listen to it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=1MwKpzu2wY4&search=miller%20clayton

Shit, Don...after that sorta backstory I had to watch the clip...and that Mr Reiss had a wonderful touch there. I think I remember you mentioning him before....the list of musicians (and genius-level a whole lot of them) who simply felt they weren't getting anywhere and followed that route is fucking staggering.
But damn that Miller kid PLAYS his heart out, especially on that Regis-hosted thing! I haven't seen anyone play the harp that way, from the BODY, in a lo-o-ong time.
