All 7 years and 2 months that I was part of 'em, that is. Totally ruled it.

The 2 most important figures of the 80s are not on this list. I'm disgusted.

Moronic 80s icons aside, I do love all of that decade for twas the era that shaped me & I actually quite like this list. So I need to ponder some more.
But really...Billy Idol is way cooler than you.

I don't know, I saw them last year at the Bass Music Hall here in Austin and they were smoking. They played all of the good stuff (unlike this year when luke saw them.....that's just rough) and they played almost all of my early favs. I almost got giddy like a young 8th grade girl in a John Huston film whenever they busted out with "The Chauffer", which is one of the greatest 80s songs of all time.
Still.......I'm highly disappointed that New Order didn't mop the floor with all of the bands listed. To me they were the epitomy of what the 80s were for me.

I'd like to see this poll again without the erroneous "Nelson' option.

I love them way more than The Cure now. I just saw The Cure being a much stronger mainstream force in the 80s than New Order. Layla, is that your autographed photo of Billy? You groupie.

My holy trinity from that era will always be: Robert Smith, Dave Gahan, and Bernard Sumner..... the sub trinity being Peter Hook, Morrissey, and Michael Stipe.
The unholy trinity and you got gum in your hair for even admitting such a horrible thing: Bono, George Michael, Nelson

aw, man .. . . . That's a lotta bands ! Holy shit, whoever said "the 80s sucked" don't know wtf they're talkin' about.
And I know there's some I'm forgetting. . . . I can't possibly remember them all !
The above list is what the 80s were like, for me. Musically speaking. Shit, I could probably come up w/at least 20+ more...

I think that it's perhaps one of the most sublime songs that is just super catchy. It's totally sad what happened to their singer. Every Sunday I go to retro night at the local goth bar and shake my ass to that song. Man. One of the best songs ever.

I actually think that when I look at it Thorn, the 80s owned all over the 90s and this decade. The 80s really was a good decade for music and infact may have been every bit as good as the 60s.
