Does "rockist" mean someone who's completely unable to look at music as a larger picture and continually insists his opinions are facts? If so, then yes.

I'll tell ya what, but "rockist" is the STUPidest, DUMBass-est, and most insipid, moronic, empty-headed, dead to me, most ludicrous, meaningless, and downright retarded term I have ever encountered in my entire adult life.

But that's because you're not a rockist.

But that's because you're not a rockist. *Sighs* If I only had a nickel for everyone who misunderstood rockjism... Several months ago I created a huge stir on ILX.com due to my controversial Outsider views regarding rockjism. To this day if you go to that site and even mention my name or mention rockjism you will immediately get banned. Same goes for a message board called the Gear Page that is full of Old School Rockist in deep denial. In some ways my arguments for rockjism is similar to my argument for the Soul--in that I believe both words have evolved (or at least I recognize both words as they were originally defined then take into consideration the evolution of mankind, music, science and whatever else so as to redefine the words in modern, evolved terms). But too many people are too stubborn to accept the evolution of either word. When most people think of rockjism, they think of old school rockjism as it was originally defined in the late 70s/early 80s. But when I talk of rockjism, I still recognize the basic essense of the word but also take into consideration all the changes in music and Rock that have occured in the last 25 years or so.

Shin--what in tarnations is you babbling about? I have several turntables, any true rockist has several turntables. We may not use them to 'scratch' and sample, but for God's sake any Rockist worth his wieght in tobasco sause has more vinyl that yoru typical pimply-faced, smelly-butt, corporate dance club DJ... Ed, lemme clue you in on something: Most people don't think of rockjism. Most people dont think about alot of things--so what? Is that any reason for me NOT to think about it? Am I supposed to be some mainstream corporate clone that only cares about what "everyone else" things about?

No, you can think about whatever idiotic thing that you want to. The problem is that you address other people as if they're supposed to give a shit about it. We don't.

And clearly, clearly, clearly I meant 'turntables' as a musical instrument, not as a record player. But I don't have to say that, right? I mean only an utter retard wouldn't be able to figure that out. In fact, I'm not sure why I'm pointing this out. There are no such utter retards on these here boards.

Yeah, the turntable retort was pretty funny and sad. Anyway, I only have one turntable, not several, so my chances of being a true rockist has been shot to hell. Good.
