Colorado has Big Head Todd and the Monsters. At least I think they're still an active band.

Aren't the Killers from Las Vegas? That'd take care of Nevada's slot.

Both have been integrated into the masterlist. Thorn, sis, or shin needs to enlighten us on Utah bands.

No one at all famous has ever come from Wyoming. Dick Cheney. Uh, he meant people and Cheney doesn't qualify as being human.

...and just found another one! Got this new CDROm from Holland with a total rock encyclopedia on it- just tried a few bands and according to this Aerosmith was formed in Sunapee, New Hampshire.

I was just waiting for Skvor to contribute to this. Anyway, here's what the list looks like now. Sleater Kinney and Fugazi have been disqualified due to inactivity. And Paul, were Foo Fighters ever based in Virginia? I just don't think that one member being from the state is enough. Fair enough about Fugazi and Sleater. I don't know if the Foos are based out of VA, but I do know they recorded at least one album in Alexandria, VA where Grohl lives. He's also part owner of the Black Cat in DC which is the best spot for the local indie bands to play. So if DC can't claim Fugazi for this, then the clear answer should be Gist. They're easily one of the top local bands around these parts. Here's a clip of them from the Ft. Reno shows 2 years ago. www.youtube.com/watch?v=6sJUfsqiVEUFYI, Fugazi really spear headed the Ft. Reno shows....every summer on Monday and Thursdays there are free concerts starting at 7pm. Back in the Day, Fugazi would headline on closing day. For the last two years, Gist has headlined on opening day.

Donny Osmond is from Utah, and I think he still performs (Vegas, that sort of thing).
Or how about the Mormon Tabernacle Choir? They've got to still be active!
