Why shouldn't you? The devil supposedly's got all the good music. Does Pissin really worship He Who Cannot Be Named? As in pray for him, believe in him? Or is he just prankin' about? He does not pray to Satan although i don't know if you're supposed to pray to him if you worshipp him. I also don't know if he is a Satanist or not. he doesn't claim to be. But maybe he is. If i knew what Satanism was then i can tell you if he is one or not. |

I guess Pissin's problem is that no one knows him. Except that he likes to poke fun at everything and that makes him difficult to take seriously at times.
So who is Pissin really? Is he just a joker? If we got to know him better, you know, it might make him more 'palateable' to some?

If we got to know him better, you know, it might make him more 'palateable' to some? I've never met him but i do "get" him. He has met a couple of people from Shin's other board and is a hoot from what i hear. His sense of humor apparently isn't up to par here though, but not everybody is supposed to "get" the joke or like it or it wouldn't be that funny. |

Mate, I can only speak for myself. I am not religious. I didn't know the thing about search engines pointing out certain websites by repeating one certain word (in that case why aren't there more sexual perverts here because of the numerous times we use the word 'fuck'?)
I find Pissin funny too. Sometimes he's a bit on overload but that's all. Only the one time when he used the word Jew in some sort of connotation and made Bowiglou angry was the only time I thought he overdid it.
But yeah, this is a different bunch than the Sedaka-clan, no doubt about it. More serious for sure. It's not that we don't love a laugh but this group is so much smaller than the previous RS-boards and has far less boards where you can express yourself so you're more likely to get noticed that way- in short, it's more difficult to ignore someone if you don't like their particular style of posting.
Again- I don't mind Pissin, he has made me laugh. But I'm not the boss around here.

OK, let me put myself in Strat's shoes for one moment.
I believe that boards like these need an active moderator. The piss-poor job that was done in getting rid of spammers and bombers at the previous RS-boards had to be improved and believe me, from a strictly personal point of view, it has. When I say I'm not the boss it means that I don't have the power to ban nor do I want to but if these boards were strictly mine I had to try too.
Your view on the Pissin-cartoonthing is that it is hypocrite to see people getting banned over it. If memory serves me well the complaint wasn't so much about the cartoons that were being placed on CE but the fact that those imagefiles were so large that other people couldn't download the pages to get to the real Current Events-posts because they have dial-up. That was when the first objection was being made. So the fun continued because...why? You just felt that it was your own playground? And when strat chimed in and warned you....then what? By keeping on posting those cartoons you were basically telling him to fuck off.
You're a moderator and a poker player, Clubber. you tell me- your opponent goes all in and you think you got the best hand...so basically Pissin's hand got called. How many warnings would he have heeded? Why DID he continue? You can argue that it didn't have come to this but it did- but even with the prospect of a ban on the table, why did the cartoon posting go on?
This is just my conclusion and not someone else's- the answer is because the cartoon-posters didn't give a shit about the other people on that board. I thought the original complaint was logical, when I had dial-up, manoeuvering around here was very difficult and slow. Besides, no one asked for an apology, just to stop it and take it to another board if possible (have we got a cartoon-board?)
Everything now boils down on how bad Chrisfan wants to keep order in CE and how she wants to keep some sort of modicum of organisation there. Strat's by far the most sensible moderator I know (and believe me, I post on some bitches of boards) and the only thing he wants is that this boards doesn't degrade into another bullshit paradise. Man, I'm enjoying it here and I don't mind the odd bit of anarchy. I hate people fighting. I don't want this community to be a fluffy happy board either so I welcome the brashness of Kenny, Shin, Res, Someone, Knight (how's he doing, by the way? Seems I lost my password onto the Sedaka-boards) and you.
As far as the satanism-thing goes...personally I'm not offended but some other people are. Comedy is a fickle thing- I try to be ironic at times and I fail miserably most of the time. Everyone has their own borders when it comes to defining what's funny or not. You won't know until you try it, I guess...

I'm 29 and would think that i would know the basic "rules". now maybe you've thrown some other rules in there that i don't know about. can you specify what "rule" i'm breaking? Cause i don't believe i've ever got a legit explanation of it. And i also some "other" people who like to post here wiould like to know them as well. |

If that post is "rude and defensive" someone, then what are Clubber's posts (and some of yours)? Please review Clubber's "I want a Trail" thread about the reasons for that rule and you might understand the rationale. Coming out of the woodwork again to try and beat a long-dead horse, I see.
You're a good kid - I'm sure you actually can see the difference, but that is beside the point. Idealogically, it's all very academic. My reasons for that rule are PRAGMATIC. Understand it or don't - I don't care, but deal with it if you want to post here.

I'm never rude. I'm appalled.
As far as out of the woodwork, well you banned me for a month, if you remember. Couldn't very well talk about it at the time. And I'm not a big numbers poster. Between this board and Ben's board, I have less than 800 posts combined. But I read just about every board on both.
I just think you need to calm down a little.
And please don't patronize me. I'm not a kid.

However, i feel i will be banned if i answer some of your questions. I think this is a good debate and i thought your post was well thought out and great. I guess i could PM you my retorts but what would that accomplish besides a 10 PM exchange that nobody gets to see. I feel everybody should be involved in this but it doesn't seem likely according to the moderators. maybe next time man |
