It's where people who're 'in' get to talk shit (IF they want to and, it should be obvious, how bothered they are about someone at Castaways) about anyone who is 'out'....in a nutshell.
And then to spill their private problems about stuff like premature ejaculation rather than have another whole 5-6 relative strangers have far more information than they need to know about their 'heartache'.
This private shit, is it fear of being laughed at that makes you more 'comfortable' at Sedaka....see, I would see the private revelations as being MORE likely to be laughed at by the level of joker who was present of the founding of that august institution.
The bared souls board here has never been treated insensitively to my recollection. I don't get this 'comfort/discomfort' security blanket you speak of.

Sedaka started as splinter from this site, while it appears to have started from a disagreement here, it was inevitable due to essentially philosophical differences. These differences are still pretty obvious and flare up from time to time even though the Sedaka board has become much more then that. It's just another message board. That's all. We have a private membership and that also causes ripples from time to time. I suppose that really is the biggest difference though. Both boards are primarily music boards made up of mostly former RS.commers, one is private the other isn't. Many posters are members of both, some post here but not there and vice versa. No big deal.
