yeah...wtf? i hear, err.... read about it all the time, but i have no clue what the fuck it is. I just found out about all of this too. I had no idea any of this was even going on....I suppose I just don't pay a lot of attention to things. I just kinda come on here, shoot the shit / kill time at work, then go about my way. I like everyone here, and I wish folks like yourself, or the Sedeka crew would post a bit more. I liked Ken's right up on it, that and ded's comments too helped explain things. Kinda reminds me of Uncle Tupelo -- then Wilco / Son Volt. |

Alright, I'm back. Castaways rocks. So does the Sedaka clique. It's all good.
I read all of your thoughtful responses. I'm fine w/PEW's banishment. It's a democratic thing, and I'd rather the majority of posters here be happy he's gone than live up to some dumb idealism in forcing him to stay. This is a great online community which I would never throw away.
I really wish Rocky and kMc would come back, though.

It's where people who're 'in' get to talk shit (IF they want to and, it should be obvious, how bothered they are about someone at Castaways) about anyone who is 'out'....in a nutshell. And then to spill their private problems about stuff like premature ejaculation rather than have another whole 5-6 relative strangers have far more information than they need to know about their 'heartache'. This private shit, is it fear of being laughed at that makes you more 'comfortable' at Sedaka....see, I would see the private revelations as being MORE likely to be laughed at by the level of joker who was present of the founding of that august institution. The bared souls board here has never been treated insensitively to my recollection. I don't get this 'comfort/discomfort' security blanket you speak of. Is this based on fact, or just some fantasy board that exists in your head? |

The first paragraph has been admitted directly AND is also strongly implied by the 'Well, if someone truly dislikes someone, they can't come in, period'. It's a blackball exclusion and defines how 'bothered' a Sedaka-someone is with someone at Castaways... Is your problem with this? The second paragraph (aside from the prem ejac crack...so, it was a ferinstance how about?) also has been repeated by ded in his ambassadoorial duties here over the past few days ad infinitum. He said that he talks about stuff there he wouldn't be comfortable discussing here. Or was your problem then with this? The third paragraph is an honest fucking question of a person very aware of the complete lack of decorum people like clubber and pissin pride themselves on. So if these uncomfortable private topics ded was alluding to were stuff like death and illness and say, prem ejac, shit like that which he cannot speak of here....I honestly wondered in that question, in a 'just suppose'-way, whether in the face of 'serious topics', if the clown noses and makeup those two guys always seem to naturally wear, might not also inhibit someone. You know Rocky couldn't even post pictures of himself here because some asshole was using them all over the internet to impersonate him? It's getting away from shit like that that makes the private message board a lot more comfortable.
It's also nice to be able to say whatever you want without some fucking asshole popping in with snide remarks or criticism. I don't feel like dealing with that kind of shit, ever, and it's nice not to have to. I'm completely above playing flame war on the internet.
I like the open forum here, and hopefully I'll post more again someday, but right now I'm posting on other open forums and hanging out at the private one. It's nothing against anyone.
I also really can't stand all the over-dramatic sand-in-vagina whining that's been going on around here lately. And it's not because it's "just a message board", because most of this shit would sound just as stupid in a real-life environment. This place just needs to relax.
I see some guy like fredrum posting in the midst of this, and I'm thinking, "Man, that dude must really think we're all a bunch of fags."
Also, if the Sedaka boards went public, they'd get shut down right away thanks to some of the more vivid images in my porn forum. Also, going public would probably get our stolen passwords to all those porn sites caught and blocked, and I just can't have that.
