The Clone Wars dare I say are better than the new films....It's sad so many key elements were left up to a cartoon -- to name a few: the contruction of a lightsaber, further development of Anakin's and Obi's relationship, Anakin showing why he is the best fighter in the galaxy, Dooku training Grevious, Force Ghost/Anakin communicating w/ Qui-Gon Jinn, Anankin coming even closer to the dark side, and last but not least...The freakin' clone wars!!!! How Lucas left these things out of the films I'll never understand. No doubt. Not to mention Anakin's ceremony of accolade, when Yoda dubs him a Knight of the Republic. This scene and so many more would have really spiced up the feature films. I'm really psyched I haven't even seen most of Vol I of these Clone Wars. I think I may have watched one or two 'episodes' from it; but no where near the entire thing. That is next on my list to check out. . . . and I'm trembling like a littel girrul at the prospect.

Thorn -- PTSD = Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Think about the Viet Nam vets who were "still in Saigon" even after they got back here.
I haven't read any of the SW books (though I also read Splinter of the Minds Eye back in '78), but the fact that Lucas endorsed L of Evil (commissioned it as well, I believe) means that you can't just disregard it if you want to talk about the Star Wars universe. Now the stuff that's been written post-Return of the Jedi is not given the same weight by George. That's all "expanded universe" stuff, and not to be confused with the "canon" of the six films + whatever else George says is in. In other words, it's out there, but if George ever decides to make a post Jedi film (another trilogy, TV series, whatever) then he's going to toss it all aside.

That scene, Anakin being knighted would have worked well at the end of Episode 2....

Anakin being dubbed a Knight of the Republic was a killer scene in the cartoon. I don't won't to spoil any more, but it would have been nice to see that on the big screen w/ live actors.... Ken, if you get a chance you should rent the Clone Wars; I'd imagine you'd like it considering you're a SW fan....

Hey, Gretchen, quit trying to make "Absa-shmaba-tutely!" happen! ;D dude you freaked me out with this i can't really explain it but for you to say what you just said is something very peculiar indeed what gives who are you who do you work for how much are you getting paid and if the answer is none of the above then which of my oldschool friends are you really? *white as a ghost*It's a Mean Girls reference, nothing more. I had a 50/50 chance of it working anyway. And while this is unfortunate, I've never met you before. The last time I was in Utah, I was 2. And I'm only as oldschool as the old rs.com boards (far back as late 1999).

And I still need to buy the Clone Wars DVDs. I've seen some shorts when they aired on Cartoon Network but I really need to see everything.

I know you're in Arkansas - - of course I myself graduated from Joe T. Robinson; one of my best friends back then was Chuck Plunkett (he now writes for the local newspaper there), we ruled the universe back then. In any case, my ex-wife's name was Gretchen. . . and w/out having to get into it too much, all I can say is the term "Absa-shmaba-tutely" was something we used to say to each other; it was a phrase that a mutual friend of ours taught us. That friend was the closest and dearest friend to not only us, but to many friends and associates going back to the days when my younger brother graduated from High School. His name was Andrew Phillips; he and my kid brother were best friends. He committed suicide a couple years ago. He was the one who implemented that phrase.

haha, don't sweat it; you didn't. I merely found it curiously synchronistic.
