Seriously, this is one board that PEW has no business being on. At least ban him until this is all worked out. He has nothing to do with whatever rift is going on here and anything he says here can do nothing other than to rile up emotions. I'd rather that we could just get through whatever issues we have here without such a pointless distraction.

I have trouble trying to mediate here between strat and shin. I don't know which proof strat has to state that Knight was indeed a troll. I found it hard to believe, knowing Knight was a regular on the old RS who posted frequently there on the Pearl Jam-board.
I don't think that raising this issue will resolve anything. But strat, you seem to have 'forgiven' PEW here, is it not possible for you to make some sort of effort to welcome back any of the Sedaka-people who went away from here after the troll-saga played out?
It matters little whether or not Knight was a "genuine troll." There are many pages about that and the rest of it. I invite everyone to go back and skim them. He acted like one, but when it was asserted that there was a "misunderstanding," he was invited back, and he did return for a while. So. What. The "mystique" is much larger than the reality. Total yawn at this point.
Big deal. But what I want to stress, Maarts, is that any of the "Sedaka people" are still welcome here. Always have been.

That sounds about right. It's a few people who RocDoc doesn't get along with vs. RocDoc (and no, I'm not placing this on him, it's as much as as him, definately). It's not Sedaka vs. Castaways. Most of the people who post at Sedaka aren't involved in this at all. Nor are most of the people at Castaways. It's an unfortunate situation that's gotten worse over time, certainly. But I don't think it's a matter of one board vs. the other. As shin said, if you frame it that way, it's a whole lot of people vs. themselves. I'm not sure whether this implies that most people who post on Sedaka don't like RocDoc, or whether it is saying that a few over there don't. I don't want to get involved in this - it's a long time since I took all this stuff seriously enough to indulge in any debate, but I do want to say that I do like RocDoc. I have always liked RocDoc. RocDoc is NOT an arsehole, and I have much respect for him. As Thorny said - 'that is all'. |

Sometimes it kind feels that way. Every couple of months it seems like somebody starts "why do have all these fights?" somewhere and usually the reason ends up being "because those sedaka kids like to stir up shit". I just get so tired off it...I don't even really know what the point of this board is.What makes it even worse that is, if you guys don't think we're assholes, not one nonsedaka castaway ever stands up for us. I know people don't want to get in the middle but there's evidence all over the place. Admittedly this has been extremely mild, we're not really getting blamed for anything right now but there's just always this air "Oh you know how they are..." it's just very frustrating. We've established there is no real sedaka vs castaways rift, which is good. That most of us really only have a problem with doc...which again no one really wants to get in the middle of but that's the problem that needs to be addressed if we really want to get to the bottom of this...or we could just be fine with us going a few rounds with him every so often. I'm ok with either. |

No, it just means you can't properly comprehend the use of modifiers in English. The word "seriously" inserted between the noun phrase "no one" and the verb "reads" modifies the verb so that instead of saying "no one reads your posts" the sentence now indicates that no one takes your posts seriously. There is now the verb phrase "seriously reads" instead of simply the verb "reads." The only time people read and respond to your posts are just to fuck with you. I certainly don't take anything you say seriously, because you've said yourself that you just post to mess with people. But you already know this, and posted your smart-ass comment in an attempt to fuck with me. I feel like you probably do need a lesson in basic English grammar, so I've indulged you with this response. But that's it. You're still a troll. Always have been, always will be.
