Thanks for the "Pho" reminder ...
My sisters are coming from Montréal this weekend
to attend our (last of the family) uncle's funeral
and I'll ask one of them to bring me a new bottle of Nuoc Mam
(fish sauce) from a small vietnamese grocery store there.
They stock one of the best sauce I've ever tasted ...
That and woodstove baked Bagels from Fairmont's Bagels,
smoked meat from Schwartz's Hebrew delicatessen,
greek Feta cheese from my favorite Greek restaurant in Montréal,
fresh smoked salmon from a Greek fish market ...
Mmmmmmm!!!

Sorry to hear about your Uncle. Thanks ! The doctor called me a few days ago to tell me they were stopping his normal medication and putting him on larger doses of morphine so we knew it was just a matter of days before his body went where his mind had already gone a year ago ...  Of all the family on my mother's side (they were five sisters and two brothers) the oldest is the only one left alive now but she's been bedridden for a good 10 years now and her mind went AWOL a good two years ago That is no way to live !
