I couldn't fit it in the subject line, but cranky old guys are supposed to start their own NHL threads No 7-second delay, OK Riley?

I'm gonna stop tipping teams- they end up getting flogged each time...Pittsburgh's just doomed from this moment on.....
Oddly enough I didn't back the Yankees earlier today ;D

The Leafs are a bit fucked right now. I like Ottawa as a very quiet prospect for going all the way this year.
I really should choose a favorite team this year. I would go back to ths Islanders, but having not cheered for them in a while and witha clean slte for who my team could be, they seem a bit shitty to claim as your fave team right now.
I told my wife Ottawa were going to be my team, and she as a diehard born and raised Toronto girl suggested that wouldn't be the best idea I ever had.

I love how the Penguins don't even care to create for other teams or fans even the slightest illusion that they care about playing defense.
Probably just as well they sent Fleury back down, to save him some shell shock.

This isn't Theo Fleury you're talking about, is it? Can't be...
THAT Fleury (along with someone like Bob Probert) must be long gone to the trailer parks of Jacksonville or Tallahassee, where-ever the heck it is that's serving up the best crystal meth...

NHL coach devised complex ploys to hide illiteracyMontreal – Throughout a storied career, Jacques Demers built a name as one of the most successful coaches in the National Hockey League. Savvy and charismatic, he is still respected in his native Montreal as the last coach to bring the Stanley Cup home to his appreciative city…. Yet during all those years behind the bench and in front of the camera, he managed to hide a remarkable fact. He could neither read nor write. www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20051103.wxdemers03/BNStory/National/

Is anyone else thoroughly enjoying the pace of the games this year? Awesome reminder of how amazing these guys are when they're allowed to skate.

Question: With so much talent to draw on, did Gretzky et al. make the right decision in naming Todd Bertuzzi to the men’s Olympic team? tinyurl.com/dnls8
