Ottawa and Anaheim are both composed mainly of Canadian players (both rosters had about 7 or 8 non-Canadians, I believe). The Montréal Canadiens (aka - "The Habs") were indeed the last Canadian-based team to win it though, in 1993.

I actually remember that Stanley Cup. I lived in Michigan, and did follow the Red Wings a bit at the time. Wow, I didn't know that it had been dominated by American teams since.

and the other was a sweep.
detroit were great champions for what, 5 of the last 6? 6 of the last 7?
i'm okay with a team from pittsburgh ascending the throne.
