...looks like I got some catching up to do.
Abba - Best: Gimme Gimme Gimme - Worst: Kissed the Teacher Michael Jackson - Best: Get on the Floor - Worst: Heal the World The Beatles - Best: A Day In the Life - Worst: That horrid 'obladi, oblada' song. The Rolling Stones - Best: Sympathy for the Devil - Worst: You Got Me Rocking
Led Zep: Immigrant Song/ worst: D'yer Mak'er David Bowie: Ashes to Ashes/ worst: Tonight Yes: Owner of a Lonely Heart/ worst: Leave It
Britney: Slave 4 U/ worst: My Prerogative Pat Benatar: We Belong/ worst: Sex as a Weapon (although I kinda like it, I only have her greatest hits album and this is probably the tackiest song on it) The Who: My Generation/ worst: Who are you? Frank Sinatra: I've Got You Under My Skin/ can't think of a 'worst' here.
Motley Crue- Shout At the Devil / worst: Hooligan's Holiday Kiss - Heaven's on Fire/ worst: Beth Lou Reed - Walk On the Wild Side/ worst: the lead single from the 'twilight reeling' album. Can't remember title. Pink Floyd - The Wall /worst: Wish you were here. Granted, it's a classic but it just bores me to tears, just like the majority of their music. Never really liked 'em.

Lenny Kravitz: It Aint' Over Till It's Over/that gawdawful cover of American Woman Prince: tough one ... Little Red Corvette/Diamonds and Pearls Beastie Boys: Sabotage/Fight for Your Right to Party REM: almost impossibly tough ... Nightswimming/I Don't Sleep I Dream Elton John: Daniel (or Sacrifice)/anything from a Disney soundtrack Inxs: This Time (best U2 imitation by an Australian band)/anything after Hutchence' death).

The sad thing is, these days, not even U2 can come up with something as good as Inxs' "This Time".

And just for the hell of it, here's catching up ... again Best/Worst
Abba: Knowing Me, Knowing You (Townshend called it the best song in rock about divorce, and it's still right up there)/The Tiger Michael Jackson: Billy Jean/anything released after 1990. The Beatles: Let It Be/You Know the Name (look up the number) The Rolling Stones - Gimme Shelter/that one where the lifted the chorus from k.d. lang's Constant Craving ... can't remember the name (thank God)
Led Zep: Rock and Roll/everything else, with a special spot for Stairway to Heaven David Bowie: ooooooh, this is sooooooo tough .... today I'll go with ... Station to Station (live)/The Laughing Gnome Yes: Owner of a Lonely Heart/everything else. Seriously.
Britney: Hit Me Baby One More Time/My Prerogative Pat Benatar: There is no reason for anyone to listen to Pat Benatar today. None. The Who: just to be contrary ... Who Are You (it really is brilliant, both sonically and lyrically)/I've Never Known War (or something like that, from It's Hard) Frank Sinatra: ya know, I RESPECT ol' blue eyes, but I don't really LIKE him ... so I'll obstain here.
Motley Crue: the best thing on any Motley Crue album was when the needle hit the end of the record and returned itself to rest. The worst thing on any of 'em was putting the needle down on side one, track one. Kiss: The fact that they introduced so many Westerners to Kabuki makeup and fetish leather/the fact that they introduced so many Westerners to Kabuki makeup and fetish leather. Lou Reed: the best? New York. The whole fucking album. Just put it in and press play. The worst? What was the name of the one that had Original Rapper on it? That whole thing. Fucking mess. Pink Floyd: Wish You Were Here/Side Four of the Wall, a waste of vinyl.
... and Alice Cooper: No More Mr. Nice Guy/Poison (and really almost anything post-Welcome to My Nightmare)

I'm not gonna rate Bon Jovi or Aerosmith, but ...
Red Hot Chili Peppers: Californication/Suck My Kiss Eurythmics: Here Comes the Rain Again/um, I'm having a hard time thinking of a really bad Eurythmics song ... Missionary Man was probably my least favorite of their singles. Annie Lennox: Walking on Broken Glass/everything she's done as a solo artist is worth hearing, though I haven't listened too much to Bare.

How can you not rate Bon Jovi and Aerosmith? Don't tell me you like EVERYTHING they've put out... btw, I wanna change my worst Aerosmith song from 'Falling in love is hard on the knees' to 'Don't wanna miss a thing'. I had finally managed to totally block that out of my memory... until Chrisfan mentioned it. That was the 'My Heart Will Go On' of 'rock'. Actually I think they were both written by Diane Warren. The songwriter who more or less is responsible for 80's music often being referred to as 'cheesy'.

I actually really like "Don't Wanna Miss a Thing". I think of it as a turd that was polished by the velvety vocals of Steven Tyler. I'm not nearly as ashamed of secretly liking it as I am of Bryan Adams' "Everything I Do I Do It For You"...
Lenny Kravitz - Best: Just Can't Get You Off My Mind / Worst: American Woman -
Prince - Best: Partyman / Worst: God
Beastie Boys - not a fan, but...Best: She's On It / Worst: Sabotage
REM - again not a fan... Best: What's The Frequency Kenneth / Worst: Everybody Hurts
Elton John - Best: Empty Garden / Worst: Your Song
Inxs - Best: Suicide Blonde / Worst: The Stairs

How can you not rate Bon Jovi and Aerosmith? Don't tell me you like EVERYTHING they've put out... OK ... you requested it ... Bon Jovi ... if forced to listen to something by these Jersey pretty-boys, I'd have to go for the acoustic version of Wanted Dead or Alive/worst? there's just too much t choose from ... how about that absolutely horrid (and irrevocably dated) "anthem" Living on a Prayer? Ugh, my stomach hurts just thinking about it ... Aerosmith ... Hmmm ... once upon a time, they had the makings of a solid middle tier rock band. Then the drugs really set in ... and then sobriety (which wasn't always an improvement) ... anyway ... BEST: Walk This Way (with Run D.M.C.)/WORST: how about Crazy? That one's even worse than Don't Wanna Miss a Thing (which I agree is a huge piece of cheese, but one that Tyler's vocals make listenable).
