A bit surprised that Nirvana got only a single vote so far.

enh. i loved nirvana when i was a kid, but it hasn't been the same for me lately. when i was young, i worshipped them, and followed the whole grungee idea. i still love the independence, influence, and general thoughts behind grunge, but i'd rather listen to pearl jam, alice in chains, or badmotorfinger-era soundgarden. i guess i just find cobain's lyrics questionable. love his passion, dave's drums, and krist's bass, though. i still think there were great, but the fact that so many worship them to no end irritates me.

AIC were the best band to come out of not only Seattle, but the 90s. It's true.

Yeah, but TOOL are the best band to come out of any city/country in any decade.

Pumpkins joint top so far. Riley must be sweating.
Doesn't look like Soundgarden are going to get a single vote, which is a shame given how good Badmotorfinger and Superunknown are. I feel they deserve something/ I'm just not sure what.

I clicked the Pumpkins myself... overall I just enjoy their music a smidgin more than Pearl Jam, who I considered casting a vote for. Tool are great, but they don't rank as my favourite band of all this lot... never had alot of time for Nirvana's actual music although I recognise the influence they made on the music industry. COuldn't really call myself an AIC fan because I only ever heard their unplugged album... As for Soundgarden... nah, Chris Cornells wailing drives me bonkers after a while... I know, I know, rich criticisms coming from a Pumpkins fan...

You guys are just doing this to get rid of me. No one really believes SP were better than TOOL right? Like seriously?

I love Tool's music, but for some reason when i think of the bands that had an enduring impression on me emotionally, they just don't come up...
Could it be they are more of a cerebral listen than emotional for me? I dunno...

i tried VERY hard to get into tool... but i never could. i'm not sure why. i guess i just prefer music that's either simple and to the point or artistic in a figurative but understandable way. *shrugs*

My favorite is NIN,but the king would be PearlJam(as my vote as well) due to the quailty and consistency of their output in the 90's

This was a tough call for me between Tool, and Pearl Jam. I went with Pearl Jam.

I don't like any of the bands in the poll
Some of the Best Bands from the 90's in no particular order:
Sentenced Cradle of Filth Nightwish Lacuna Coil In Flames Hammerfall Primal Fear Children of Bodom HIM Dimmu Borgir Iced Earth Creed Bruce Dickinson Solo

Creed?! Ugh. You'd like Kerrang! radio, which is our local rock station, 'cos it plays all of that stuff, pretty much. It's not to my tastes, but then most of those were better than the two bands they seem to be plugging constantly right now - The Rasmus and Lost Prophets. They're painful, both of them.
But this wasn't meant to be an exhaustive poll of 90s bands, just the big rock exports from the USA that filled stadiums in Europe. You can only put 8 options in the poll, and I was supposed to have 8, but I forgot STP.

All it took was seeing The Darkness even mentioned in Kerrang for me to disqualify anything with that name.
