Paul, how's it going with the girl you were dating? Hey Dolly, We're still kinda sorta dating now and then. We have a very on again, off again relationship. Sometimes its a real pain in the ass, but also, it's kinda cool having a part time girlfriend. We'll hang out for 3 straight days, then not speak for 2 weeks. Odd, yes, but that's just how it is I reckon. It's completely opposite of how things were with my last girlfriend - the one I was all goo-goo-ga-ga with.

Oh, and glad to see you back on the threads. How's school? How was the home buying experience? I've tried here in DC to buy, but real estate around these parts is crazy! A single family 3 bedroom in Arlington can go for over 1 million USD! There are some condos in my range, but just barely. I would need a roomie, and or girlfriend/wife to go in with me. A lot of 2 bedroom condos go for well over 400 thousand here.

Hey Paul, Thanks for welcoming me back - - only for me to promptly disappear again Just been up North visiting family so that's why I popped in then immediately popped off again (i.e. don't take it personally!) Sounds like DC is comparable to UK house prices, possibly a little worse, though I've seen one-bed 'studio' flats in London go for best part of a million (that'd be 2 million US Bucks) in desirable areas. But London prices are just crazy unless you don't mind living in the ghetto. Anyways, we're happy with our 3bed semi in a nice village in the East Midlands! Managed to get on the property ladder a few rungs up - hope to be in by the end of the month. Sounds like you're taking it a little slower with your girlfriend - probably sensible. Have a bit of fun mate, you're still young (for a few years more at least )

" Just been up North visiting family so that's why I popped in then immediately popped off again (i.e. don't take it personally!)" I'd never take it personally, no worries. Now that the Kinks possessed me, I want to go back to England. I feel like I know that country more now b/c of Mr. Davies. I wish I could find a job that would send me there for like 3 months or something. Isn't London the most expensive city in the world? It tops NYC and San Fran, no? Last I saw, here are the top 5 most expensive US cities: 1. San Fran 2. NYC 3. Chicago 4. LA 5. DC " Sounds like you're taking it a little slower with your girlfriend - probably sensible. Have a bit of fun mate, you're still young (for a few years more at least )Yeah I'm taking my time w/ her. But I don't think it'll last very long either. I'm still kinda young, but I'm also sick of going out all the time, etc...I kinda like having a girlfriend, and this girl I'm seeing now is kind of a loose cannon. I don't think she's in settle down/relationship mode at all. Basically we're not on the same page, and I really doubt that we'll continue on much longer. It's both good and bad. Bad, b/c I like her, good b/c she's a pain and we're not seeing eye to eye. I'm getting the feeling that I need to end it once and for all and move on. I just hate the dating game - it sucks. So getting back out there and doing all this crap I don't feel like doing isn't very appealing at the current moment. I'm sure 'Miss Right' is out there somewhere, it's just damn hard to find her.

I think London and Tokyo are pretty much on a par - probably down to high demand for housing and limited space. I did read the other day that London has overtaken New York as the world's premier financial city, so that won't help. I have a pal who bought (part of) a house somewhere near Brixton (as in 'Guns of') and he would no way have been able to afford it had his family put up the capital. And that's in spite of him working for the City's top private law firm.
Warwickshire, the county I'm about to teach in, is one of the most expensive areas to live in also - that's why we've bought elsewhere. Much more bang for your buck just over the border in an equally desirable neighbourhood.

Come to England! JLLM and I would put you up for a week or so and take you to see some sights/shows etc. We're only an hour's train-ride from London.

Sounds like you and the girl aren't suited in the long term - but that's ok. If you're in a hurry to find someone and settle down though, having a partner will only hold you back. But then I always much preferred being alone than being with the wrong person - was never into lining up replacements before ending a relationship (not that I had thaaaat many).
As a Libran though I'd expect you to deliberate over it for a few months/years and wait to see what happened rather than force the issue and take the initiative ;D
Once it becomes more than 50% pain in the arse - it's time to move on.

LOL ;D - That's about as spot on as I've ever heard. I've already been dating this gal since January and I've been deliberating it since February. Right now she's about 40% pain in the ass - she's getting near the threshold.

Wow... deliberating since February and it's, what, 6 months later? Still, I guess that's a blink of the eye in Libran terms.
I also think Librans bottle stuff up so much that they're the biggest potential psychos in the zodiac. They stew and they stew, but then do they blow...!
Paul, what is that album cover in your avatar?

i'm not sure what paul's avatar is but it sort of reminds me of this: this is totally true. i've lost my temper a total of five times in my life. the last time was last summer when i was on the phone with my ex-boyfriend. for a year and a half, i'd allowed him to talk over me, just run over whatever i was saying with a louder voice. i completely lost it on him finally. and shook visibly for two days.
