Awesome! Shows you’re doing something right kiddo. Went to Boston Pizza for din last night. Alas it’s not the real Boston. Have fun at the nuptials.

The nuptials went off without a hitch. Mummy and hubby are at a hotel tonight. Tomorrow they depart for a fun-filled week on the big isle of Hawaii. Lots of food, lots of dancing and idle chatter. Am departing back to Austin tomorrow. My flight leaves Providence R.I. at 6:25. a.m. That means getting up at 3 a.m. to be ready for when the shuttle arrives at 4:30. Oi. Arrive back in Austin around noon. Theres a plane change in Baltiwhore. Uhm...err...or is that Baltimore? Will be driving to San Antonio tomorrow night to see Neil Diamond. Have floor seats Row 7!! Lucky me.

Saw Neil Diamond yesterday evening at the SBC Center in San 'Tonio. The show started with a song I have never heard. Personally I would have made the kick-off-the-show song one of the better well known songs. The second song was "Desiree" and that was when the magic of Neil Diamond live and in person started for me. The concert was "Spectacular-Spectacular." I loved it. The band was magnificent. I loved the jazz quartet with the trombone, the trumpet, the saxaphone and the instrument that looks like a big saxaphone, a bass-sax??? Neil sounded great. The audience were on their feet for songs such as "America, Sweet Caroline, and I'm A Believer." My personal favorites performed were "Love On The Rocks, Red, Red Wine, I Am I said, and Forever In Blue Jeans." After Blue Jeans Neil performed "You Don't Bring Me Flowers" the duet recorded with Barbra Streisand. One of Neil's three female back-up singers sang Miss. Streisand's (or is that Mrs. Brolin now?? ) part. The back up singer of-course paled vocally in comparison to Barbra but who wouldn't? A great video played on the screens when Neil sang "Skybird." The video undoubtedly featured Jonathan Livingston himself. A sentimental song and video for sentimental idiots like myself I suppose. I thoroughly enjoyed the concert. I bought my wittle nephew Nathan a "Neil Diamond Forever 2005" Teddy Bear. It's adorable. I'm sending it to him for x-mas so I have the next two months to enjoy it as it sits on the living room chair. The Diamond line that "stood out" during the concert was when he addressed the audience stating "I always go to where the noise is" meaning audience adulation, before turning to the audience behind and above the band and performing "Play Me." The closing songs were "Cracklin' Rosie" and another personal favorite "Brother Love's Travlin' Salvation Show." Traffic getting out of the SBC Center was horrendous. I sat in the SBC parking lot over an hour before traffic lightened up. The show started only 15 minutes late, which is the earliest actually for any concert I have previously attended. Show ended about 10:30. The stadium was packed. Great attendance for an admirable man. Tre' Magnificent. A real blast in other words. I was truly surprised that "Thong Thung Blue" was not performed, thank chwist. Definitely one of Neil's sell-out top 40 hits. I would have liked to hear "Heartlight" performed. Another personal fav. All around 5 out of 5 Mercury stars.

I had hoped for a Neil Diamond "Forever" poster. While visiting my mother I noticed her music room in her home was decorated with framed posters from all the events she and hubby have attended. They frame the poster and place the ticket stub from each event in with the poster. Adorned on her music room walls were events by Annie Lennox and Sting, Madonna's "Reinvention" Tour, Elton John's "Peachtree Road" tour (they had floor seats,) Bob Dylan, Cher's "Farewell" concert, Rolling Stones, Neil Diamond, Cyndi Lauper and so many others. It (the music room) is really cool decked out with framed posters from all the events they have attended. I thought I'd do the same. Alas...no Diamond posters. Only event poster I have (need to get a frame) is Billy Idol's recent tour.
Maybe I can find one on-line? Hmmm....I'll check Diamond's website for tour merchandise.

Made the decision to quit smokin' cig's again. I had quit for 4 months. Alas...
Anyhoo, have decided the stop-smoking date will be 10-31. All saints eve. Making a date worked last time. Quitting was not as bad as I thought the first time. Hope this second quit is just as good.
Nicotine gum (the mint kind) works great.
