Made beef fajitas last night. Two bell peppers, a large onion and a couple jalapenos with fajita seasonings. Turned out great. Like 'em best with corn tortillas.

Breaking news in the wife beaters case: Seems the wife was having a gasp! extra-marital affair while the wife-beater was away on jobs. Does that constitute justification for a beating though? Hmmm. Any-hoo, she's off again, no longer living at the complex. You know me, I rarely listen to gossip. It's just funny what one, accidently of-course overhears while on the porch smoking.
The woman next door to me (the cop dater) leaves her garbage by her front door. I swear the same bag of trash has been there going on three days now. She left the bag in the middle of the walls between our two apartments. I kinda nudged it over by her door with my foot yesterday hoping she'd "catch the drift." Alas...

Decided when I'm ready to get another dog to pick one from the local animal control center. Made some calls this past weekend doing the initial inquiry. Think it's fitting in a way. Not that any dog could ever replace Logan. It was pretty bad watching her be put to sleep. She was under anesthesia at the time, the cancerous tumor was too large to take out. Size of a cantaloupe.

Well, tomorrow the 30th is the last day smoking cigarettes. Will have my last (thoroughly enjoyed of-course) before the clock strikes 12:00 a.m. on the 31st. God, I hope its as easy as the first time. I know what to expect (sort of.) Bought a pack of my favorite brand (kool milds in the blue pack) for my last smoke. Wish me luck (again...)

Good luck. It’s something I’m not even thinking of trying yet because my mindset just isn’t with it. Hard road though so best wishes.

Pat, if nothing esle at least you keep trying. Don't ever quit quitting, seriously. It will be 4 years already for me in February and I am so glad. Not only because of health reasons, but financially it would be impossible anymore. Start sticking 3 bucks in a jar each day as a motivator!

Thanks for the encouragement. Mocha looks like a good dog Gigi. Am now approaching the first 12 hour-no smokes mark and am chomping (rather furiously I might add) on my third piece of nicotine gum. Nicotine gum really takes the initial craving away. The mint kind is best taste wise.

She’s a sweetie all right. Very good last night considering Halloween. 3 pieces in 12 hours isn’t bad at all P. Speaking of......... trick or treaters way down in our hood. Anyone else note the same?

Made it through my first week without a cigarette. Yeah! Am drinking lots of water this time, so I'm not constantly eating. Seems to help both the craving for smokes and the craving for food. I have between 4 to 5 pieces or sticks of nicotine gum per day. Hope to have switched from nicotine to regular gum by this time next week.

Decided that I better add some exercise into my routine. I've already gained a few pounds and just recently went from a 33 to a 34 inch waist and feel the need for a 35 starting...DON'T THINK SO!
Thus, I started an exercise regiment that I intend to follow every day as I live so near a beautiful park in the statuesque town that I live in. Went for my first walk today and walked a full hour across a beautiful bridge that crosses the Colorado river into the main city park. Whats really fascinating are all the variates of trees that each have a plaque describing each trees unique attributes. Walked along the colorado for an hour and decided to do this daily for a couple weeks. That and start a push-up, sit-up exercise before I retire for the evening. Think I'll start with 20 of each and add an additional each night until I achieve the number of push-ups/sit-ups that I desire to maintain. After a couple weeks of this I intend to add some jogging into the routine, then gradually start biking the trails along the colorado and state parks.
Want I don't desire is to substitute food for cigarettes.
Need to learn to walk again before I run and run before I cycle. Wonder what Oprah would think?
What do you think JAC?

Well, I managed 5 sit ups and 15 push ups before collapsing. Will try to add one each every night. "Progress not perfection..."

You are going about it 100% the right way pat. A bit more each day and you'll be suprised how you don't notice the build up till one night you find yourself shocked at how many you did.
