Just got in from my speed-walk. Walked 1 1/2 hours today back and forth across the bridge 1/2 a dozen times then down into the park. When I got back I threw out the package of sliced pasteurized cheese that I used to use on my sandwiches. Decided to just have the turkey with pickle, tomato and lettuce with spicy mustard instead of mayo.
Next will be the pringles...

Had a danjou pear and a kiwi with the turkey sandwich today. Never had a danjou pear before, always bartlet pears. Danjou were on sale so I picked up half a dozen, their quite good. Kiwi I never peel, I eat the hairy part...uhm...err...hardy har har. Seriously, I never peel kiwi's, eat em' whole.

Two weeks with a cigarette. Am down to one or two pieces a day of nicotine gum as well. Went for my 1 1/2 hour walk today. As I was crossing the bridge this guy from a distance, was ranting and raving and waving his hands, talking to himself. When I got within a few feet of him I noticed a bible in his hands. One of the doomsday nuts is now trolling the bridge. Yikes! Shame, he's a really young (in his 20's) guy. So young to be so nuts...maybe he skipped his daily dose of zyprexa.
If I see him again maybe I'll start hissing like a snake...sssssss....

Had a couple 100% kosher beef weiners for supper loaded with sourkraut and mustard. Also a grapefruit (walmart had a bag of 6 for a buck and change on sale last week.) Decided to add fresh peeled raw grapefruit into the diet. Bottled water to drink.

Seriously, you've GOT to have something better to do. BTW, I had chicken-fried steak with gravy, toasted bread with butter and sides of french fries, cole slaw and black-eyed peas. Water chilled from the tap to drink. Aren't you glad I shared that valuable information with you? Besides, what does your supper menu have to do with "travels" and "roads you've ridden"? Don't you have a book to read?

Not food but food for thought. Ever notice how instead of just reading some posts (this could apply to any board) & simply deciding it’s not your cup of tea (& this applies to more than just Jac) & then knowing the content just skip it seems to hard for some folk. I’m amazed at the need to get the digs in instead of just letting the discovery pass with out comment. Funny that in a puzzling way..

I probably should keep posts concerning meals and food on the "Good Eats" forum and this thread on other, more meaningful drivel...

Three weeks without a cigarette. Stopped the nicotine gum when I ran out three days ago. So three days without any nicotine gum. I had cut down to only one piece of gum a day anyhow so no big deal. Increased my big red gum usage as well as Rold Gold pretzels and 5 flavor lifesaver usage a bit.
Hooray for me!

I will say I do crave and think about having a cigarette more this time than I did the first time around. It's all psychological rather than any actual physical craving now I think.

Saw a stunning sight tonight as I went for a walk/jog. I was crossing the bridge into the town. It was the first time I've jogged at night. Looking down into the park I surveyed a buck and his doe grazing. Between the two deer was none other than Pennywise the clown frantically waving pom-poms. The sight of the deer was magnificent. Something not seen in the big city.

Boy did that buck have a set of antlers on him. Poor thing will probably be shot to death by some hillbilly just so those antlers will adorn a wall. Shame.
