Did you guys know that every member of Pearl Jam wears black and wants to die? Some modernly hip independent rockers said that... so it must be true!
To pick on PJ, of all current bands!

Those black-clad hipsters deserve to die, if you ask me.
Hey we all gotta go eventually . . . don't we ? ;b

Rolling Stone reported in May 2008 that Pearl Jam is in the early stages of working on the band's ninth studio album. The new album will be the first Pearl Jam album produced by Brendan O'Brien since 1998's Yield. Mike McCready stated that the album is "really in its infant stages right now...we have about five ideas that have been worked on."

Well that's exciting news indeed! I thought their last was a real return to form after Riot Act which left me wanting a little - the last one was full of strong songs and well written lyrics - nothing felt like it had the laziness of the preceeding two or so albums, which I thought was great.

..and I'm currently listening to that solo LP by Vedder to the soundtrack with the 'wild' name in it...and you know, I think Vedder's voice is best highlighted with him and an acoustic background....

I don't mean to sound arrogant or persecuting but would I be wrong in saying that the wallflowers do some excellent covers?? I don't know much about their original stuff, but they make some great covers!

Oh and proud ~ would love to hear yourt thoughts on Accelerate by REM some time, I know you and I had quite a good time defending the likes of Reveal, would love to knowwhat this new one did for ya.
I personally loved it, but before I rant I should probably take myself to a different board, given the topic here is mean to Pearl Jam ;-)

Came out today down under and after one listen I have to say that yet again PJ have left me in a state of confusion. Again I'm listening to an album I really want to like and though the band tries to sound more accessible I fell the songs just bounce off my skin like water off a greased up duck. Sure, the songs are shorter, conciser in arrangements and less dark but...perhaps they left this album a bit too late in their ctalogue for me to enjoy fully or I'm just past their type of rock 'n roll. It's not for lack of trying, I'm sure.
